20 October 1950: The 187th Airborne Regimental Combat team made a combat jump on twin road/rail junctions at Sukchon and Sunchon, Korea. Approx. 2,670 members of the 187th jumped that day including my father who was a medic. This was a daytime jump so Pathfinders jumped on the first serial and stayed on the drop zone to run follow up aircraft and a 600 man reinforcement jump on 21 October.
